Holy Maa Vaishno Devi Yatra

Day 1: Flight to India (New Delhi)
Around Midnight arrival in Delhi.
The cosmopolitan city and capital New Delhi is the main gateway for the travellers to India. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to the hotel.
Day 2: New Delhi - Jammu (by train)
The whole day is at leisure either to have sightseeing in Delhi or for relaxation.
In the night after having dinner we drive to the railway station for the train to Jammu.
Day 3: Jammu
In the morning we will arrive at Jammu. Upon arrival, you will be met by an Indo Vacations representative and transferred to the hotel. In the afternoon we will explore the city of Jammu.
Day 4: Jammu - Katra - Vaishno Devi
Today in the morning after having breakfast we will drive to Katra. Katra is the starting place for the Vaishno Devi Yatra. All pilgrims are required to get passes at Katra for the visit to Vaishno Devi temple. This temple is located about 12 km away from Katra. To visit this temple one has to hire a pony or travel by foot from Katra. Popular belief holds that anybody who walks the Himalayan trail to her abode to ask for a boon rarely goes back disappointed. We will visit this temple either by travelling on foot or hire a pony from Katra. The Vaishno Devi shrine is located in a cave towards the top of the Trikuta Mountains in Jammu-Kashmir. There are three pindies for Mahakali, Mahalakshmi and Mahasaraswati. This is believed to be the only place where these three Devi's are found in one temple as natural pindies. The yatra follows the path Vaishno Devi took when fleeing from Bhairon. Several shrines, wayside stalls for snacks and beverages and water-points dot the route. By the evening we reach Mata Vaishno Devi temple. After having a small rest we visit the temple.
Day 5: Vaishno Devi - Katra
In the morning after visiting the temple again we will return back to Katra. By the afternoon, we will reach Katra. The rest of the day at leisure (opportunity for the shopping)
Day 6 - Katra - Jammu - New Delhi (by train)
In the morning from Katra we will drive back to Jammu. By the afternoon we will arrive at Jammu. In the evening we will drive to railway station for train to New Delhi.
Day 7: New Delhi
In the morning arrive in New Delhi. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel. Rooms are available to get fresh and change before we depart for the airport
Day 8: New Delhi - Depart
Around midnight flight to home destination.

Day 01: DELHI - HARIDWAR (210 Kms/ 5 – 6 hrs drive)
Arrive Delhi early in the morning, our representative will meet you at the airport and drive direct to Haridwar
On arrival at Haridwar check in at the hotel. In the afternoon city sightseeing tour including Chandi Devi and Mansa Devi Temple.In the evening we will take you to Har-ki-Peri, to witness the famous Aarti of holy Ganges. Overnight stay at hotel.
Haridwar : Haridwar is the gateway to the four pilgrimages of Uttaranchal. It's also starting point on the journey to the sacred sources of the Ganga and the Yamuna Rivers. According to legend, Prince Bhagirath performed penance here to salvage the souls of his ancestors who had perished due to Sage Kapila's curse. The penance was answered and the river Ganga trickled forth from Lord Shiva's locks and its bountiful water revived the sons of King Sagara. In the tradition of Bhagirath, devout Hindus stand in the sacred waters here, praying for the salvation of their ancestors.The holy city of Haridwar is home to some of the most sacred Hindu rituals. Round the year, devotees from all over the country flock here in their thousands to perform "Poojas" or prayers. Renowned for the "Maha Kumbh Mela" which appears Every 12 years and the enchanting "Aarti" at "Har Ki Pauri" which captives the beholder with hundreds of burning wick lamps floating down the Ganges this town has been distinguished for centuries in the Indian society.
Day 02: HARIDWAR - BARKOT (230 kms/ 7 - 8 hrs drive)
In the morning drive to Barkot via Mussoorie. Enroute visit Kempty Falls. On arrival check in hotel. Dinner and Overnight at hotel.
Day 03: BARKOT - YAMUNOTRI - BARKOT (32 kms drive / 10 km by jeep/ 5 kms trek)
After an early breakfast depart for Hanuman Chatti (Drive 32 kms). From here we will take local jeep to reach Phool chatti. From here we will start our trek to reach Yamunotri. After reaching Yamunotri pray at temple and also take a holy Achman to start your most sacred pilgrimage to Char Dhams. Trek back to Phool Chatti in the evening and further drive to Barkot for overnight stay.
Yamunotri :Yamunotri Temple lies in the western region of Garhwal Himalayas. It is situated at a height of 3235 m. Goddess Yamuna, the river goddess is worshipped here and has special significance in Hindu scriptures. The idol is made of black marble. The river Yamuna emerges from Yamunotri glacier which is at a height of 4420 m near the Kalind mountain. This was the home of Sage Asit. The temple was constructed by Maharaja Pratap Shah of Tehri Garhwal. A hot sulphur spring pond is situated at Yamunotri close to the temple.Nearby Places of interest include Surya Kund, Divya Shila, Sayanachatti, Janakichatti and Hanuman Chatti.
Day 04: BARKOT – HARSIL (165 kms/5 – 6 hrs)
After breakfast, depart for Harsil via Uttarkashi. Enroute take a holy dip in hot water springs at Gangnani. Harsil is one of the most beautiful valleys. Upon arrival at Harsil check in at Char Dham Camp, the camp is set amidst an apple orchard in Dharali village, 2 kms away from the Harsil cantonment. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.
Harsil: Harsil is a beautiful spot to see the colors of the nature. The walks, picnics and trek lead one to undiscovered stretches of green, grassy land. Harsil is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Sighting here includes the Wilson Cottage, built in 1864 and Sat Tal (seven Lakes). The adventurous tourists have the choice to set off on various treks that introduces them to beautiful meadows, waterfalls and valleys. Situated amidst the incredible beauty of mountain peaks, Harsil is counted amongst some of the most beautiful places in the Garhwal region.
Day 05: HARSIL - GANGOTRI - UTTARKASHI (115 kms/6-7 hrs drive)
After breakfast depart for Gangotri. Upon arrival at Gangotri take a holy dip in the River sacred The Ganges, It’s also called Bhagirathi at its origin. Visit the temple. Late afternoon drive back to Uttarkashi for dinner and overnight stay.
Gangotri: The shrine of Gangotri is situated at an elevation of 3200 m surrounded by deodars and pines. The original temple was constructed by the Gorkha General Amar Singh Thapa. Every year people from all around the world visit this shrine. A number of ashrams and dharamshalas are located on the other side of the river. It is believed that Raja Bhagirath used to worship Shiva on a slab of rock "Bhagirath Shila" situated near the temple. Submerged in the river there is a natural Shivling where, according to mythology, Lord Shiva sat when he received the Goddess Ganga in his matted locks. A days trek takes one to Gaumukh, the source of the mighty Ganges.
Day 06: UTTARKASHI - GUPTKASHI (205 kms. Drive (9 - 10 hrs)
After an early breakfast depart for Guptkashi via Tehri (A heritage city of Tehri going down in to the mighty waters of Holy River Ganges, because of the construction of Tehri Dam), Srinagar and Rudraprayag. Lunch enroute at Srinagar. Upon arrival at Guptkashi check in at hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 07: GUPTKASHI – GAURIKUND (32 kms drive/2-3 hrs) - KEDARNATH (14 kms trek/3-4 hrs)
After breakfast drive Gaurikund with pack lunch. From Gaurikund we will trek up to Kedarnath. Up on arrival at Kedarnath check in at the hotel. After freshening up visit temple. In the evening visit Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi behind the temple. Dinner and overnight stay at tourist lodge.
Kedarnath : The temple of Kedarnath dedicated to Lord Shiva is revered and visited by many pilgrims every year. The temple is situated at an altitude of 3580 m amidst the background of snow covered mountain peaks and greenery. The temple is built of large, heavy and evenly cut grey slabs of stones and is considered more than 1000 years old. The temple has a garbha griha where a conical rock formation is situated and a Mandapam for seating of pilgrims and visitors. A large statue of the Nandi Bull is situated outside the temple door.
Day 08: KEDARNATH - GUPTKASHI (14 kms trek/3-4 hrs/ 32 kms drive/2-3 hrs)
After breakfast trek back to Gaurikund and from here drive to Guptkashi. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.
Day 09: GUPTKASHI - JOSHIMATH (200 kms/7 – 8 hrs drive)
After breakfast drive to Joshimath via Chopta (Mini Switzerland of India), up on arrival at Joshimath check in at hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.
Joshimath:The religious centre, established by Adi Shankaracharya, which he called Jyotirmath, later came to be known as Joshimath. Among the sites of interest are the temples of Nav Durga and Narsingh. Apart from its obvious religious importance, Joshimath is known for its scenic beauty.
Day 10: JOSHIMATH - BADRINATH - PIPALKOTI (110 kms/6-7 hrs drive)
After an early breakfast drive to Badrinath. Up on arrival at Badrinath take the holy dip in Tapt Kund (Hot water pond), visit the temple and then drive to Mana Village, 4 km away, is inhabited by an Indo-Mongolian tribe. It is the last village on the Indo-Tibet border. Many places famous in Hindu mythology lie close to Mana Village such as Vyas Gufa, Ganesh Gufa, Bhimpul and Vasudhara falls. By evening drive to Pipalkoti for dinner and overnight stay.
Badrinath: Badrinath Temple is the abode of Lord Vishnu. It is situated at an altitude of 3130 m at the banks of Alaknanda. In the backdrop, is the Neelkanth mountain peak situated between the twin peaks of Nar and Narayan. The name is derived from wild berries called Badri. Adi Shankarcharya established the idol of Vishnu in the temple. Near the temple is a hot water sulphur spring, Tapt Kund. DAY 11: PIPALKOTI - RISHIKESH 225 kms/8-9 hrs drive)
After breakfast drive to Rishikesh via Devprayag. Up on arrival at Rishikesh check in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.
Day 12: RISHIKESH – DELHI
In the morning drive to Delhi.
